| Trash & Recycling Instructions: Recycling is mandatory on Nantucket. Recyclable containers (i.e. cans, glass jars, etc.) must be washed, but labels do not need to be removed. Trash should be sorted into the following 3 categories: 1. Tin, Aluminum, and Plastic The recycling bins are located in the closet beside the stove in the kitchen. Clear recycling bags (13 gal.) have been provided for your use and can be found on the top shelf of that same closet. The regular household trash bin is located under the kitchen sink. Each outdoor recycling bin must have a clear plastic bag (33 gal.) in it - there can be no loose trash in the bins! If you have extra bags of household trash, please tie them and set them in one of the other bins. Bags left on the ground or uncovered attract unwanted animals. If the trash area is not tidy, please let our caretaker know. Trash pick-up days are Wednesday and Saturday. Telephone Instructions: For your convenience all local. regional, and national calls are free of charge to you during your visit. Household Instructions: Dishwashing Detergent Should you finish off one or more of these items please replace them with enough to get the next tenants off to a good start. Thank you! |
| CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS: Housekeepers have very limited time to prepare homes for our guests during the summer so we would appreciate your help in giving them a head start. 1.Wash and dry as many loads of TOWELS as possible. Laundry is the most time consuming task during a cleaning so we ask for the most help here. If there are a lot of towels, please start washing them earlier in the week so they can be finished by Saturday. Clean towels may be put in the linen closet in the upstairs hallway. There should be a load of linens in the washer when you leave so the cleaners are ready to dry them when they arrive. If there are any unwashed towels, please leave them on the upstairs bathroom floor or in the dry tub. 2.Strip beds of dirty sheets and pillowcases. Leave dirty linens neatly on the floor in each bedroom. 3.Empty kitchen cupboards and refrigerator of all opened food including sauces, dressings, and condiments. Spices, oils, vinegar, flour, tea, salt and pepper should stay. If you have any UNOPENED/SEALED food, you may leave it for the next guests. Use your judgment. 4.All emptied jars, cans, and bottles must be washed and sorted for recycling. Remove trash from the house and sort into recycling bins provided at the side of the house. Any oversized trash (i.e. portable grills, large boxes that won't fit in a plastic bag, etc.) must be removed. Please contact our caretaker if necessary. 5.Clean and put away all dishes into appropriate areas. Any last minute dishes may be put into the dishwasher and started before you leave. 6.Usually floors only need to be broom clean. However, a vacuum can be found in the closet under the staircase if needed. 7.Turn off all lights, night lights, fans, and air conditioner. 8.Close and lock all windows and doors throughout the house. 9.Wipe down outdoor tablecloth and lower the umbrella. 10. Ensure propane tank under the barbeque grill is turned to the OFF position. 11. Return keys to real estate office. |
